The access road to the glacier and the Waiho Road bridge had been wiped out after the last flood so the Fox River swing bridge had to be dismantled piece by piece and bundled up to fly out to road access.
Our team on site walked into the remote area each day via a bush track to gain access to a 4WD motorbike, which was flown onto the remaining access track. This then took them to the swing bridge site so they could complete their work. A difficult feat, indeed!
