Our work on the Kaniere Water Race Bridges for Westland District Council - Te Kahui o Poutini has recently concluded with the completion of three new bridges along the water race trail. These bridges were designed, manufactured, and constructed by our talented in-house teams.
Bridge 1, made of steel, spanned an 18-metre valley in the track. Our workshop fabricated the bridge in three sections, which were then sent to our blast and paint shop for coating. Once finished, the sections were airlifted and placed on-site by our site crew using a helicopter!
Bridge 2, with a shorter span, was constructed from timber, while the work on Bridge 3 involved widening the existing timber bridge and installing a new handrail on one side.
The track is now reopened for cyclists and walkers to enjoy.
