Liddel Contracting was the successful tenderer for designing and building the new Preston Road Cycleway Bridge for the Grey District Council.
This contract was a challenging project requiring a large amount of trade and environmental disciplines to complete all the required tasks.
The project scope included complying with resource consents to construct gravel access pads for cranage and piling, work from the Erua Moana Lagoon bed, drive steel H piles to a depth of six metres below the lagoon bed, construct pier caps, procure, transport and crane into place hollow core deck beams, pour concrete infills, install timber handrails and gravel abutments.
Work schedules were adjusted around tide movements to maximise productivity.
