Slatey Creek Bridge 001

This project was to design and build a double lane bridge to meet HNHO standards as a replacement for the existing single-lane bridge while maintaining traffic flow throughout the project.

During this project, we carried out design and drafting in conception with John Mackenzie of Elmac as the chartered Engineer, completed project management, relocation of services under the supervision of Downer and Electronet, installed and maintained a detour for traffic inclusive of a temporary bridge. We drove 12 abutment H piles, carried out splicing of piles in accordance with our weld procedures and engaged a third-party inspector to carry out weld inspections and reporting. All concreting of abutments, settlement slabs, placement of pre-stressed beams were completed by our teams, inclusive of the installation of guard rail and approaches.

The supply of pre-stressed beams was carried out by Smiths Construction and closely monitored by Graham of Liddell's as part of our stringent QA process. Paul Smith Earthmoving completed earthworks and sealing. We enlisted the expertise of John Mackenzie of Elmac Consulting to carry out the professional engineering element of the project. All other aspects of the project were completed in house by Liddell Contracting.
